Roger Kalia, Conductor

Post image for Roger Kalia, Conductor

Another day, another fantastic recital here in Bloomington.  On Sunday, October 11th I recorded Roger Kalia as he conducted for Allen Hamrick’s bassoon recital in Recital Hall at the IU Jacobs School of Music.  He had been capturing his performances on his own before but decided that he wanted something a little more professional this time around.

See a video from his recital after the break…

I setup by placing one camera at the back of the stage facing Roger and captured audio from the audience.  This way his DVD would have the shot he wanted (a shot capturing his conducting performance) and still have balanced audio of the group.

After receiving his DVD on the Wednesday following his performance (4 days later!) he wrote back and said “the DVD looks great!”.  In fact he was so pleased with the result that he asked me to edit another DVD that would feature several previous performances for a demo DVD he would be sending out.

If you would like me to record your next recital or event of any kind just send me an email at nichampagne(AT)gmail(DOT)com.
